NATIONAL CHRISTIAN PANHELLENIC CONFERENCE CONSTITUTION AND BYLAWS
We, the representatives of historically established community service inter-fraternities and, similar in structure and background with both graduate and undergraduate chapters, recognizing the need for coordination and cooperation in activities of Bible Colleges, Institutes and Seminaries Greek letter Christian inter-fraternities, and recognizing that there are certain areas of action and programming that can best be realized by formal organization, do hereby establish such an organization and bind ourselves to abide by the provisions of the following Constitution and Bylaws.
ARTICLE I - NAME
Section 1. The official name of this organization is the "National Christian Panhellenic Conference" (NCPC). The purpose of the governing body of the Christian Greek organizations within the NCPC Greek Conference is as follows: To be the governing body of the Christian Greek organizations within the National Christian Panhellenic Conference.
To promote Christian unity throughout the campus and community.
To serve as a resource for all in addressing the needs of Christian students.
To promote and engage in public service activities for the benefit of the campus and the community.
To provide a forum for discussion and resolution of issues reflecting the number of organizations of the National Christian Panhellenic Conference.
To encourage and maintain intellectual development and academic accomplishment amongst individual members and member organizations.
To promote and develop leadership skills amongst individual members and member organizations.
To centralize activities of the member organizations of the National Christian Panhellenic Conference.
To provide social activities for the campus and community.
Section 2. All Undergraduate Councils chartered by this organization shall be designated as the “National Christian Panhellenic Conference of ________________” (Seminary or Bible’s Schools name).
ARTICLE II- PURPOSE
The purpose of the NCPC shall be to foster cooperative actions of its members in dealing with matters of mutual concern. To this end, the NCPC promotes the well-being of its affiliate inter- fraternities, facilitates the establishment and development of local councils of the NCPC.
ARTICLE III - STRUCTURE Section 1. NCPC shall establish undergraduate and alumni councils from affiliate chapters at a Seminary/Bible college or in a given area respectively.
Section 2. Undergraduate and alumni councils shall become a part of the region in which they are located. The regions shall be, Pacific Region, Central Region, Mid Western Region, Southern Region, Northern Region
Section 3. There shall be a Council of Presidents, made up of all local chapters.
Section 4. There shall be an elected President for each region.
ARTICLE IV - MEMBERSHIP Section 1. Affiliate Membership. Affiliate membership in NCPC shall include Theta Alpha Kappa, ( ) and any other affiliate organization of the NCPC as may, from time to time, be granted membership. No other organization shall have the right to sit on, or have a voice in, a local undergraduate or alumni council of NCPC, and may not be considered for membership on the local level. Affiliate membership shall also include local undergraduate and alumni councils chartered by the NCPC.
Section 2. Associate Membership. Associate Membership in the NCPC may be accorded to an individual, a firm, an association, a partnership, a corporation, an officer or an employee of a corporation, or a member or employee of a partnership actively engaged in the business of manufacturing, selling, distributing, or providing supplies, products or services to affiliate inter- fraternities. Election to Associate Membership shall be by majority vote of the Council of Presidents. Associate Membership shall be without vote.
Section 3. Active Members. Active members shall be the members who have paid all required dues and assessments.
ARTICLE V - COUNCIL OF PRESIDENTS Section 1. Authority. The governing authority of the NCPC shall be vested in the President of the NCPC, with the Council of Presidents acting as advisors.
Section 2. Composition. The Council of Presidents shall be composed of the elected president of each affiliate member Inter-fraternity or the authorized representative thereof, who shall be designated by the president of the respective fraternity or sorority and shall represent the fraternity or sorority in the absence of the president.
Section 3. Responsibilities. The Council of Presidents shall be responsible for the general policies of the NCPC, and for activities to be executed on behalf of the NCPC.
ARTICLE VIII - OFFICERS Section 1. Elected Officers. The elected officers shall be President, First Vice President, Second Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. These officers shall be elected by the National Christian Panhellenic Conference membership. A term of an elected officer shall be two years, not exceeding four years.
Section 2. Appointed Officers. The National President of the NCPC, shall appoint the hereinafter named national officers: Executive Director, Legal Counsel, Parliamentarian, Historian and such other offices as may be required to carry out the business of NCPC.
Section 3. Ex-Officio Members. The Executive Director, Legal Counsel and all other national appointed officers of NCPC shall serve as ex-officio members of the Council of Presidents. They shall serve without vote.
ARTICLE VII - LIABILITY Section 1. The National Officers and the Council of Presidents of the National Christian Panhellenic Conference expressly disavows responsibility for the actions of councils and any other such membership as defined in this document in violation of either the letter or the spirit of this Constitution and Bylaws.
ARTICLE VIII - AUTHORIZATION Section 1. The President of the NCPC is authorized to speak on behalf of the organization. The President shall authorize any others speaking on behalf of the NCPC.
ARTICLE IX - PARLIAMENTARY AUTHORITY Section 1. The latest edition of Robert's Rules of Order shall govern in all matters not provided for in this Constitution and Bylaws of the NCPC.
ARTICLE X - AMENDMENTS Section 1. These Bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the National Christian Panhellenic Conference membership Council of Presidents shall have veto power, by a two-thirds vote, against an amendment passed by the NCPC membership directly affecting the policies and practices of national affiliate members.
