I was born in Miami, Florida and moved to Atlanta in 1977 where I attended Indian Creek Elementary and Clarkston High School.
In 1980 my family moved to Chattanooga TN, and in 1983 I graduated from Hixson High School and enrolled at Chattanooga State. In 1984 I enlisted in the US Army as a Combat Engineer and this was the year I also married my wife, Janet. While stationed at Fort Ord, CA, I continued my general studies at Monterey Peninsula College.
In 1985 Janet and I were blessed with our first daughter, Jennifer Elizabeth and in 1992 we were blessed once again with the birth of a second daughter, Nancy Marie. Janet and I have been married for 21 years.
I first began working with children by volunteering as a Sunday School Teacher for 7 and 8 year olds at Norcross FUMC in 1987. It was the same year I began working in youth athletics as a softball coach at Shorty Howell Park in Duluth. I continued to stay active in youth athletics and in 1995-1997 served as League Director at Collins Hill Athletic Association, while continuing to stay active in the church; focusing my attention from children’s ministry to youth ministry in the field of youth counseling.
Besides my work as a Peer Group Counselor at Hidden Lake Academy, I am also a Youth Minister at Fairview Presbyterian Church in Lawrenceville, GA. This will be my 17th year working with youth.
